Welcome to my website
I am Andrea Pérez-Villa and I currently am a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory IMPMC (Institut de Minéralogie, de Physique des Matériaux et de Cosmochimie) at Sorbonne University, Paris (France).
I completed my PhD in Physics and Chemistry of Biological Systems at SISSA (Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati), Trieste (Italy) and before joining the PhD program I got my university degree in Chemistry at University of Antioquia, Medellín (Colombia).
My research interests are in the field of molecular dynamics simulations (classical and ab initio), enhanced sampling techniques and the application of these methods on prebiotic chemical reactions and biochemistry. Through the use of these techniques, I can estimate different thermodynamic and kinetic properties of chemical systems, as well as study their intrinsic molecular mechanisms.
